Lingual orthodontics

Lingual orthodontics is a new generation orthodontic treatment method which is preferred for the correction of dental crowding and positions. In lingual orthodontics, braces are placed inside the teeth and are invisible. 

It has the same treatment period as the classical orthodontic treatment. As the braces are in contact with the tongue, it is necessary to have an adaptation period of 8-10 days, and then it provides a great advantage to the user in terms of aesthetics and social aspects.

Lingual orthodontic treatment may be applied in all age groups where the classical treatment is applied. Especially, adults who are active in social life, and people from the occupational groups where the visuality is important, prefer it very often as there is no loss of aesthetics.

In the lingual treatment, firstly, a detailed medical history is taken, and the orthodontic problems are detected. According to the diagnosis, a plan is made, and the lingual brace suitable for the mouth is designed. Different braces are used according to the braces applied to the front surfaces of the teeth. These braces are specially prepared for the inclinations on the lingual surfaces of the teeth and are bonded indirectly to the tooth surfaces.

There is a special system called Incognito within the scope of the lingual orthodontics. In this system, special braces of gold and nickel-titanium alloy are produced using a CAD/CAM system. After the application of the lingual braces, the controls regarding the adaptation in the mouth are performed, and the treatment process is started.
