Laminate veneer is materials prepared from porcelain applied directly to the front face of the teeth using adhesive systems with minimal or no abrasion in the front region of the teeth in the case of color and shape defects in the front teeth.

Porcelain laminate veneers are used as an alternative to full crowns (outer covers) for covering the enamel defects, masking the coloration of the teeth, and removing the spaces between the teeth (diastema closure). The most important advantage over the dental veneers is that it can provide natural and aesthetic results using low level of treatment, and even without touching the natural teeth at all in the appropriate situations.

Leaf porcelains are very thin as compared to the dental veneers. As they are thin, a precise work, an accurate planning and diagnosis should be done. Leaf porcelains have an average thickness of 300-500 microns and this value is very thin as compared to the other smile design elements. The thinness of porcelain increases the light transmittance and provides a more natural appearance. Leaf porcelains are produced using CAD/CAM technology.

Leaf porcelain applications are carried out in an application of 1-2 sessions. Initially, the teeth are cleaned and recording process is performed. Restorations designed in accordance with the tooth structure are applied to the tooth surface with adhesives.

Leaf porcelains may be used for many years with a daily and correct oral care. The restorations produced with CAD/CAM have high resistance to the staining and abrasions.
